Charter Disclaimer

Last updated: July 2026

Oceanova is a booking and contact site operated by Ann Dominique Quilang, an independent yacht charter agent. Charters are provided, operated, and licensed by third-party yacht operators. The following terms are set and enforced by the yacht owner or operator; by booking, you agree to them.

Weather & operational cancellation

Yacht owners and operators reserve the right to cancel or postpone a charter due to poor weather conditions, mechanical failure, Coastguard restrictions, or any UAE law-enforcement decree. Where a charter is cancelled by the operator for these reasons, a rescheduled date or refund will be arranged in line with the operator's policy.

Payment

Full payment must be cleared on or before the booking time, and in any case before the trip commences. The charter may not proceed until payment has been received in full.

Cancellation policy

Charter cancellations must be made at least 72 hours prior to the booking date. If a charter is cancelled less than 72 hours before the booking date, the full charter amount will be charged.

Guest capacity & safety

The number of guests on board must not exceed the vessel's maximum stated capacity. Life jackets must be worn at all times by all guests, including children. Any child on board must remain under the direct supervision of a responsible adult at all times.

Captain's authority

The captain has complete control of the yacht or boat throughout the entire duration of the charter. Guests must follow the captain's and crew's instructions at all times, particularly those concerning safety and navigation.

Conduct & UAE law

Alcohol is not permitted during Ramadan or on official dry days, as required by UAE law. Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited inside the yacht. Loud music is not permitted after 10:00 PM. No pets or other animals may be brought on board without the operator's prior consent.

Personal belongings

Guests are responsible for the safety and security of their own personal belongings throughout the charter. The operator accepts no responsibility for loss of or damage to personal items.

Recreational activities & health

All water and recreational activities are undertaken at the guest's own risk. Guests must not jump into the sea while the engine is running or while the vessel is underway. Guests who are pregnant or who have any medical condition should assess their own fitness to take part and inform the captain or crew beforehand. Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the applicable laws of the United Arab Emirates, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Insurance & damages

Operators are required to hold valid hull and passenger insurance for the vessel. Any damage to the vessel or its equipment caused by a client's negligence or misuse will be assessed and the cost of repair recovered from the responsible client.

Fishing

Any fishing during a charter must be conducted strictly in accordance with UAE fishing regulations.

Acceptance

By confirming a booking, the charterer and all guests acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to this disclaimer and to the operator's charter terms.
